PRIVACY POLICY

Boxmoor Aerials - What information will we gather about you?

Boxmoor Aerials collects certain information about visitors to its website which it uses to help it provide a website and service that is useful. We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on our site www.boxmooraerials.co.uk

  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence

  • Details of your visits to our site and the resources you access.

Boxmoor Aerials may hold the following details about you:

  • Personal information such as your name and address and any information you may have given us when discussing the work needed or submitted in writing which may include sensitive personal data

  • The number that you telephoned us on or email address that you contacted us from

  • Digital information, including your IP address and how you found us online

  • Contact preferences

  • Information pertaining to your contract

  • Transaction records (but note no bank or card details are recorded or retained)

  • Details of any sales or service visits we may have made to you and any calls or contact we may have with each other

  • Technical information regarding the service provided by us

  • Data retention

 

We will not keep personal data in a form which permits identification of individuals for longer than is necessary for the purpose or purposes for which they were collected.  We will take all reasonable steps to destroy, or erase, all data which is no longer required. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of personal data, the purposes for which we process information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

If you enquire with us we will hold your data for five years from the date we received your enquiry unless you ask us to remove your information beforehand. If you ask us to remove your data we will then hold your information in a suppression file and you will not be marketed to or receive any information from us.

We monitor social media feeds and may respond to relevant comments.

Marketing

Your details may be used to send you marketing information relevant to your enquiry for a period of a maximum of five years following your initial contact.

We will ask for your specific consent for any additional marketing activity, for example if we wanted to send you something we thought you might be interested in but was unrelated to your original enquiry. We will maintain a record of when and how we obtained your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Customer satisfaction

It is incredibly helpful for us to understand how satisfied you are with your experience of Boxmoor Aerials. We may ask you to complete a customer satisfaction survey, either in print or online, which we will use to monitor our performance and any concerns our customers raise.

We may invite you to complete an online customer review via a third-party service. These organisations will process your data on our behalf and cannot use your data for their own purposes.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1) Boxmoor Aerials strive to ensure all information and imagery provided on our website are correct and factual at the time of inclusion, but do not accept any liability if relied upon.

2) Free Home Visit & Professional Advice


Our free home visit service is for free quotations for new TV, data cabling, radio and satellite installations only. If you have a current system, analogue, digital or satellite, we provide a diagnostic fault finding service at your home, or agreed address, which will include a full diagnosis of the system in place in an attempt to rectify the problem, and provide advice on any replacements where necessary.

We are happy to provide professional advice by telephone before visiting any property. However, this advice is subject to the information you provide us at the time of call, and can alter upon a visit from us. We are unable to provide fixed fee’s for any new products or installations as these vary depending on the property, signal and type of installation required. We do however, provide a base price for your information.
 

All quotations provided are done so on a no obligation basis.

We will always visit your property on the agreed date and will call ahead to let you know we are on our way. Unfortunately, factors out of our control may not make this possible. In these circumstances we will always endeavour to inform you at the earliest opportunity of where this may be the case.

3) Goods & Services

​

By booking an appointment with Boxmoor Aerials, and where we visit your property, you agree to any payments or prices quoted during your booking with our engineer. Failure to pay in full once the service has been completed will result in any goods or services provided being removed, and/or legal court action.

​

All goods remain the property of Boxmoor Aerials until paid in full. We reserve the right to remove any goods where this condition has been breached.

​

By signing the invoice provided, you agree to the advice provided by the company, and the suitability, location & positioning of any equipment fitted, and the terms of the company as set out below. Furthermore, you agree to pay in full upon completion of any works carried out, as agreed with the company.

​

All goods and services provided by Boxmoor Aerials are subject to the conditions set out below and will be the basis of the contract between the company and the customer.

​

The company, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to decline any work deemed unsafe.

At its sole discretion, the company may invoice the customer for any works carried out. All such invoices are strictly net and unless agreed with the customer, are due for payment within fourteen days of date of invoice.

​

Any time quoted for delivery and/or installation is estimated and not guaranteed. The company cannot be held responsible for inconvenience due to cancellation/postponement of the appointment.

​

The company will guarantee the following against faulty material and workmanship:

a) Satellite equipment received by the company, and its installation, twelve months from the date of the invoice, unless stated otherwise.

b) UHF TV & VHF FM equipment received by the company and its installation, twelve months from the date of the invoice, unless stated otherwise.

​

Any aerial installed in the loft will adversely affect the signal and reception received. Although the company will endeavour to maximise the quality of reception received in these circumstances, it cannot guarantee the results from these installations.

 

We cannot guarantee the quality of reception in your area and received by our equipment or installation. Reception is dependent on many factors out of our control. However, we will ensure the reception received is as good as local factors allow at the time of installation.

 

Where digital signal received is below the levels recommended by the Codes of Practice, but the customer is satisfied with the installation and reception received, we cannot be held responsible for the maintenance of these signals or quality under its normal guarantee terms.

Boxmoor Aerials will not provide a guarantee or warranty on any equipment provided by the customer and installed by us. Any further visits from us due to faulty equipment of the customers after installation may result in a diagnostics being required, which may incur further costs. This will be discussed and agreed before our visit.

​

Any equipment replaced or repaired during the period of the guarantee, will remain in guarantee from the date of the original invoice.

​

This warranty/guarantee does not cover.

a)  Reception quality and conditions changing which are outside of our control, which may be but not limited to, local buildings being erected, tree’s, cranes, maintenance of local transmitters, power cuts, lighting strikes/gale winds etc

b)  Movement or damage caused by winds in excess of 60mph

c)  Interference caused by local radio hams, citizen band radio, radar, electrical appliances or any other transmitting frequencies

d)  Any repair, upgrades or alterations carried out by persons other than those employed or instructed to do so by the company

e)  Retuning of receiving equipment due to alteration of channel frequencies.

f)  Works carried out for the customer against our best recommendations, for example, installation of an aerial not suitable for the reception area.

Boxmoor Aerials will not be held liable for loss or damage outside of our control. Such as  fire, theft, flood, Storm, earthquakes, circumstances deemed as acts of god, lightning or damage beyond the suppliers reasonable control or acts from third parties, criminal or not. Installation faults will be rectified.

​

You must keep the invoice in the event of a claim and provide to us upon the visit of one of our engineers. There may be a delay if this document is not provided.

4) Property Damage

​

a) It is the customer’s duty to ensure suitable permission from the owner/landlord/agent/organisation, and/or planning permission if necessary is obtained prior to installation work carried out by us. We will not be held responsible for any damage to the property (such as fixings, holes etc) if this has not been obtained, and in the event of equipment supplied or installed requiring removing or re-positioning, extra charges will be incurred.

b) By instructing us to proceed with any works as agreed we expect the customer has gained the necessary permission as set out above.

c) In the unlikely event of property damage potentially caused by us, the customer must notify the company within seven days of the invoice via telephone, email or in writing; contact@boxmooraerials.co.uk or 15 Catlin Street, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP39AU.

Reasonable opportunity must be provided by the customer for us to inspect the property damage prior to repairs being carried out. The company will not be held for any liability for such damage unless this condition has been met.

5) Complaints

​

Whilst we strive to ensure all our customers experience a positive service, we nevertheless want to hear from you if you have any cause for complaint.  If you wish to complain about any aspect of the service provided by us please write or email and we will aim to respond within 48 hours. contact@boxmooraerials.co.uk or 15 Catlin Street, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP39AU.  

 

 

Notice of right to cancel:


Your contract is with Boxmoor Aerials and your reference number is on your quote provided.

You have the right to cancel this contract if you wish, within seven calendar days starting on the day the quote was issued. Cancellation should be communicated in writing or by email to contact@boxmooraerials.co.uk or 15 Catlin Street, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP39AU. 

Should you send your cancellation notice in writing via post, it is recommended you retain proof of postage by a certificate of posting, or recorded delivery slip.
Notice of cancellation is deemed to be served as soon as it is posted/sent.

Work carried out prior to the expiry of the cancellation period:
By signing a written quote, you agree work will commence before the seven day cancellation period expires, and should you subsequently cancel in
accordance with your rights, you are advised that reasonable payment may be due for any work carried out.
